The first step in the animation process is the concept phase. During this step, the film is divided into scenes and all text and actions are mapped out in concepts, scripts and storyboards.

The storyboard is then recorded on video. At this stage of production, a preliminary version of the soundtrack can be added. This provides an excellent impression of the film's pace and timing.

Comic House works with some of the worlds best writers and storyboard artists, amongst whom for example Wilbert Plijnaar (photo) who lives and works in Hollywood since 1995. There he worked on successful feature films like Osmosis Jones (Warner Bros), Ice Age 1 en 2 (20th Century Fox/Blue Sky), Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius (Paramount/Nickelodeon) and Shrek II (Dreamworks).

And Arjan Wilschut (photo), whose career started at Comic House. He worked on several successful animation films including the BBC special Moses (Emmy Award 1997), Joanna Quinn's film Famous Fred (Oscar Nomination 1998) and Michael Dudok de Wit's magnificent Father and Daughter (Bafta en Oscar winner 2001). For the Comic House studio he collaborated on numerous commercials and made guide-animations for all cat dialogues as well as the title sequence for the much acclaimed Dutch feature Minoes.
